Talk to fans about the past Battlefield games and one name will always come up with many backing it. Sure many will mention Battlefield 1942, it was the first one and the entry point for many. Many might even call out Battlefield 2, a refinement that established many modern conventions that the series still follows. But one name stands above all of them and it is the odd black sheep named Battlefield: Bad Company 2.

Background
Battlefield: Bad Company 2, the sequel to the spin off of the mainline Battlefield series, has become much beloved among fans who have clamored for a worthy successor for years now. They were developed for console first, heavily featured environmental destruction (a feature that is now standard in all modern Battlefield games), and had a dedicated single player story starring the eponymous Bad company. The slapstick, light hearted single player was meant to be a fun alternate to the more dark and uber serious Call of Duty campaigns. All of this made the Bad Company series a refreshing take on the military shooter genre.
