Coming into this holiday season all sorts of games are vying for your money and time. From blockbusters to multiplayer games galore. The much anticipated Back 4 Blood should be into the mix of one of the hottest games to end the year. So why hasn’t it and what is causing so many of its players grief. I think it is in part due to the balancing of the overall game and how that restricts and incumbers player’s progression. Or to put it plainly. Back 4 Blood is 2 Damn Hard.
Background
Called by many the spiritual successor to Left 4 Dead and for good reason. Featuring the same developer team Turtle rock Studios that made the first Left 4 Dead. It also shares some key elements. In the zombie apocalypse setting, emphasis on 4 player co-operative play, and the use of an AI Director which will dynamically change a given level based on how players are doing. Left 4 Dead was wildly popular in its day and still has a sizable following today. So, by all accounts a pseudo sequel to it should have been a smash hit.
